There is no tired like start of school tired (and marching band tired). It’s such a good tired, but I’m JUST feeling like I’m in a routine enough that I can come home and be a little productive, instead of coming home and hibernating until morning. I’ve seen so many “”First Day Of School” posts this week, and we here in Indiana are like, “Midterms are next week.”
Anyway, when we finished the porch 4 years ago, we ran out of project money, and I had no porch furniture, except the porch swing from Doug’s Father and Stepmother that we were given when we were married. I found some wicker furniture on Craigslist, and painted it black. I’m pretty sure if it was a cat, these pieces were on their 10th life, but I think I spent about 40 bucks total, so it was worth it. Fast forward to this year, and they are falling apart, even more than they were. The rocking chair rockers fell off if you moved the chairs, and everything was always unravelling and breaking.
Old on the right, new on the left!!!
But this is resin, and should last a LOT longer. And I sewed a few more pillows (and bought a couple) and found a couple of wreaths, so now it looks SO CHEERY. It’s just a little refresh, but I love it so much.
This is also Week 33 of the 52 Weeks of Home Photo Project : Porches and Entryways! (I missed last week on the blog, but it was up on Instagram and Facebook.) The photo project seems to be most at home and interactive on Instagram (and on Facebook as well), so I’m going to move it over to those two platforms entirely for the rest of the weeks – so please follow me there if you’d like to keep seeing the posts! And don’t worry, more renovation posts are coming up here, soon. I’m finally getting back in a groove after the start of school, and I’m excited to show you a few new things soon!
