This really is the most perfect light fixture of all time for this room. Let’s get it up there, shall well? And don’t forget, we have the most amazing ceiling medallion of all time, too. Basically I don’t even know why I put up wallpaper. I’m only ever going to look up.
First, though, let’s get rid of this awful ceiling fan. Ceiling fans have their purpose, but I just really don’t like them. And this one even has some character, and isn’t terrible. But still. I hate it. (Also me. I also have some character, and am not terrible.)

Down it comes!

Gone! Most of the time, the pale pink ceiling looks like it’s white. But here, you can really see that subtle color.

First, we had to drill a hole into the ceiling medallion. Doug had a whole plan, so it was going to be great! But of course I was terrified that something bad was going to happen the whole time.

We decided to do a dry fit, and see how the medallion held up with just the ceiling canopy from the light.

It did really well, and laid really flat, so we decided not to use any adhesive to put it up. I think this might be the first time that we haven’t glued the medallion to the ceiling, but we think it’s going to be fine!
Seriously – how beautiful is this?

Time for the light! I think I spent this whole day just gasping in delight.

Thank goodness for .5 lens, because I was able to get some cool action shots whilst doing the very important job of keeping the medallion out of the way.

Seriously. GASPING FOR JOY ALL DAY.

This picture is terrifying. But it exists, so here you go! Reminder that we did all of this in December, as evidenced by the Christmas tree in the background.

I am the happiest human that ever existed.

Oh. My. Word.

Truly, I don’t think a light fixture has ever matched a room so well without trying really hard to make it happen.
Please enjoy this amazing light. I can’t believe it’s in a space I get to create in. I am the luckiest.
Details…..

With the lights on! If there’s ONE drawback, it’s that she shadows created by the downward lights make it hard to see the details on the medallion. But that’s SO minor!
Without the light? More medallion.
I am in love.
And of course, there’s a dimmer.
This light makes me endlessly happy.

Absolutely gorgerous!
Thank you!
Oh wow! Gorgeous!!

The light and the room is breathtakingly gorgeous!
I love that you love it!
The most awesome light to ever exist! I can’t believe how perfect it is in that room. Can’t wait to see more pictures of the room!
Thank you!!!
Unbelievably perfect!
Thanks Sharon!
I love it, but I am too shy in my decorating to use both a flamboyant paper and light fixture…. I need to step out of my comfort zone I guess.
Flamboyant is MY comfort zone, and I’m sure yours is WONDERFUL!
My goodness, Amy, that really is perfect. Beautiful!
Thanks Stephanie!
